Job Description:
A 'Graphic Designer' at Blanchett Neon is to design and then produce
representations of signage in an accurate and appealing format to aid the sales and/or production
departments.
To accomplish this goal the job involves designing and rendering a proposed sign in an appealing
presentation to help a client visualize the sign Blanchett Neon could produce for them.
This may include
- a 2 dimensional drawing.
- producing a photo overlay.
- a 3D rendering.
- a scale model.
- preliminary production drawings.
- producing an architectural rending.
Other services provided for the Sales Department and Clientele may include
- producing variations and alternatives of the designs.
- preparing signage criteria.
- designing Logos
- converting and preparing electronic files.
- assisting in the sales presentations.
- rendering accurate scale drawings c/w dimensions and specifications on construction material.
- preparing production ready artwork for patterns and vinyl applications.
- filing and organizing electronic art files.

Job Description:

As a sign installer, you will perform the following tasks
- Knowledge of sign trade in all departments including reading of plans and blueprints, sheetmetal, plastic, neon, vinyl and electrical aspects
- Conduct site survey and measurements
- Transport sign components to site
- Operate boom truck, power tools and welding equipment
- Install illuminated or non-illuminated signs
- Possess a clean driver’s abstract
- Inspect sign installation to ensure conformance to specifications
Salary will be based on experience.

Sheet Metal Workers - Posted: January, 2008

As a sheet metal worker, you will perform the following tasks:
- Read blueprints and work specifications, layout, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
- Follow established sheet metal fabrication procedures to produce a sign
- Operate light metal working machines such as shears, brakes, punches and drill presses, including CNC equipment to cut bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate different sign products
- Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
- Inspect product quality to ensure conformance to specifications
Trade apprenticeship qualification is an asset.
Salary will be based on experience.
